Last Day Of MCJ Camp
I think everyone will agree that this is a bitter sweet moment. We're all happy we've learned so many things in such a short amount of time. The experience would be nothing without the new making of associates/friends. I got tired of food on campus rather quickly than I expected. The walking on campus had me feeling wore out and my knee was screaming "go sit down!" There are soo many stories I could tell that keeps me laughing as I think of it. You could some here and there were home sick. To be honest, I just want to sleep in my own bed! I know for a fact, that I will treasure this memory for as long as I can.
My Favorite Medium - Photography
There were four mediums this week for the journalism workshop; photography, radio, broadcasting, and print (newspaper). The New Yorkers had the first opportunity to be in the photography group with Dr. Coleman. I've secretly had a passion for photography, but never had the chance until this week! My favorite thing I learned was the difference between a PHOTO and PICTURE. I kind of knew that when I thought about it, but it was basically brought to the light. I enjoyed trying to reach the people behind the camera. You must make a story out of the final results of your photos & that's something I believe that I could do in the future. I can't wait for my mom to see day 1 photos!

College Campus
I am fortunate to have a mother that works on Southern Miss campus, but this experience is way new for me. I actually bragged to my friends that will be staying in Century Park dorms in the fall that I got to stay there before them. I've never been to any "summer camps" during the summer, so I am trying to take in everything. At times I have been telling m roommate little ways to get here and there. But I have come to find out that I do not know USM as well as I thought. Our first day at the workshop we had a scavenger hunt ice breaker. I had the hardest time trying to find out the clues. But as time progressed throughout the week, it became easier. Now when I get to college I'll be the coolest freshman everrr!
